SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.72 inches in Kawkareik, 4.05 inches in Paung, 3.66 inches in Hkamti, 2.36 inches in Sittwe, 2.04 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 1.85 inches in Hpa-an, 1.81 inches in Kyaukpyu, 1.60 inches in Ingapu, 1.49 inches in Mawlamyine and 1.38 inches in Putao.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10thJuly 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Southern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Southern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady,Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States.
