SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.37 inches in Hkamti, 2.35 inches in Hpa-an, 2.28 inches in Putao, 1.82 inches in Nyaunglaybin, 1.77 inches in Pinlaung, 1.73 inches in Naypyitaw(Pobbathiri), 1.65 inches in Belin, 1.46 inches each in Naypyitaw (Zayarthiri) and Hlaingbwe, 1.38 inches each in Magway and Kawkareik and 1.29 inches each in Hlaingbwe(Shwegwin) and Hakha.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9thJuly 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States.
