SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah and Eastern Shan States, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 7.72 inches in Kyaukpyu, 4.57 inches in Thaton, 4.29 inches in Thayat, 3.10 inches in Paing Kyone, 2.99 inches in Hpa-an, 2.80 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 2.75 inches in Sittwe, 2.20 inches in Myeik, 1.69 inches in Dawei and 1.65 inches in Laydatpyin(Wettigan). 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Depression over the North Odisha(India) has moved Northwestwards and reached over the South Jharkhand and adjoining interior Odisha. It is likely continue to move Northwestwards and may cross interior regions of India. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.. Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bangal and ‌a few cloud to partly cloudy Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7thJuly 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region and (Southern and Eastern) Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Magway Region and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph.  Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of continuation of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States.
