SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.17 inches in Belin, 5.00 inches in Kyaukpyu, 4.69 inches in Sittwe, 4.33 inches in Thaton, 3.90 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 3.50 inches in Paing Kyone, 3.31 inches each in Madauk and Shwegu, 3.19 inches in Nyaunglaybin and 2.95 inches each in Shwekyin and Hpa-an.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Odisha-West Bengal Coast (India) has intensified into a Depression. It is centered at about 375 Nautical miles North- Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), 35 Nautical miles South-Southeast of Balasore and 45 Nautical miles South-Southwest of Digha, India. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may cross North Odisha(India) between Chandbali and Digha close to the Balasore during next 24 hours. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6thJuly 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionaly heavyfall in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with rough to very rough seas are likely at times in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 11-14 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
