BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Odisha-West Bengal Coast (India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and may cross into the North Odisha and North Chhattisgarh (India) during next 72 hours. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Special Features: According to the observations at 18:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Strom “MAYSAK” over the Gulf of Tonkin moved Northwards and intensified into a Severe Tropical Strom “MAYSAK”. It is likely to move Northwards and may cross over the Northern Coastal areas of Vietnam and the Southern Coastal areas of China during next 6 hours. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 5thJuly 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with rough to very rough seas are likely at times in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 11-14 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
