SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.12 inches in Belin, 4.96 inches in Mudon, 4.44 inches in Dawei, 4.25 inches in Kyeikkhame, 4.05 inches in Chaungsone, 3.94 inches in Paung, 3.54 inches in Mawlamyine, 3.39 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 3.23 inches in Yangon (Botahtaung) and 2.95 inches in Myeik. 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Odisha-West Bengal Coast still persists. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Special Features: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Strom “MAYSAK” over the Gulf of Tonkin is likely to move Northwards and may cross over the Northern Coastal areas of Vietnam and the Southern Coastal areas of China during next 24 hours. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5thJuly 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Frequent squalls with rough to very rough seas are likely at times in off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 35-40 mph. Wave height will be about 11-14 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
