SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Chin, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Kachin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls Naypyitaw, Bago, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.04 inches in Chaungsone, 4.96 inches in Taungoo(Avia-Met), 4.72 inches each in Mudon and Kyeikkhame, 4.53 inches each in Mawlamyine and Paung, 4.37 inches in Dawei, 4.01 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 3.50 inches in Hpa-an, 3.31 inches in Belin, 3.15 inches each in Hpa-an(Agro-Met) and Kawkareik and 3.07 inches in Ye.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7thJune 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread Kachin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyiaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
