SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kayah, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Mandalay Region and Mon, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.02 inches in Kawthaung, 3.42 inches in Pantanaw, 2.68 inches in Zalun, 2.36 inchesin Wakema, 1.90 inches in Nyaungdon, 1.66 inches in Mogok, 1.57 inches in Thabeikkyin, 1.42 inches each in Hlegu and Mawlamyinegyun, 1.15 inches in Mongpan and 1.06 inches in Myanaung. 

BAY INFERENCEMonsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay, Eastcentral Bay and Northeast Bay of Bengal.  Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd June 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kayah, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, (Northern and Southern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States.
