SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State. Day temperature 2°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Chin State and 2°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Rakhine State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 41.4°C in Chauk, 40.0°C in Yeu, 39.2°C in Nyaung Oo, 39.0°C each in Pakokku and Myinmu, 38.1°C in Sinbyugyun, 37.6°C in Tada U(Avia-Met), 37.4°C in Gangaw, 36.8°C in Myingyan, 36.7°C in Monywa and 36.6°C in Kalay on 24-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.92 inches in Phyarpon, 3.90 inches in Kalewa, 3.50 inches in Myitkyina, 2.17 inches in Mogok, 1.93 inches each in Hlegu and Zalun, 1.85 inches in Gangaw, 1.57 inches in Belin, 1.54 inches in Myanaung, 1.38 inches in Phyu and 1.30 inches in Mawlamyine.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Shan States and scattered in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated of heavyfalls in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
