SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers has been scattered in Shan State and isolated in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Chin States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 3°C above April average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin State, 2°C above April average temperatures in Mandalay, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Northern Shan States and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 43.7°C in Myinmu, 43.4°C in Chauk, 42.8°C in Myingyan, 42.6°C in Tada U(Aviation Met), 42.3°C each in Nyaung Oo, Minbu and Sagaing, 42.1°C in Magway and 42.0°C each in Mandalay, Kyaukse(Lunkyaw), Aunglan, Taungdwingyi and Sinbyugyun on 18-4-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.10 inches in Tachileik, 1.02 inches in Lashio, 0.51 inch in Mogoke, 0.20 inch in Mongton, 0.16 inch in Muse, 0.08 inch each in Phaung Byin and Monghsat and 0.04 inch each in Namsan(Southern Shan), Loilin and Nyaung Shwe.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th April 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States and isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 80%. Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-6 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Shan States.
