SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Chin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Taninthayi Region and Kachin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States and isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Mon States with isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Mon States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, (Northern and Southern)Shan, Kayah, Kayin States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were (40°C) in Hpasaung, (39°C) each in Minbu, Magway and Aunglan. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.54) inches in Thazi(Hlaingtat), (1.26) inches in Kyauktaw, (1.14) inches in Singaing, (0.86) inch in Kyaukpyu, (0.75) inch each in Monyin, Mawlaik and Laydatpyin(Pyay) and (0.71) inch in Putao.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Seaand a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in TaninthayiRegion and Kachin, ChinStates, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayin, Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States.Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayin, Mon States.
