BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (15:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It is forecast to further intensify into a depression during next (24)hrs. Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and West Central Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th January, 2017: Rain will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Shan and Mon States, isolated in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Kayah and Kayin States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon - Taninthayi Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Seas will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
