SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in  Eastern Shan and Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Bago and Yangon Regions, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Ayeyarwady Region, fairly widespread in Magway Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Sagaing and Mandalay Regions and isolated heavy falls in Bago Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (5.43) inches in Maungdaw, (4.92) inches in Myintnge, (4.12) inches in Singaing(Agro), (3.58) inches in Homalin, (3.54) inches in Hkamti, (3.35) inches in Madaya(Agro), (3.27) inches in Tamu,  (3.23) inches in Taunggoo(Avia), (3.05) inches in Patheingyi(Agro), (2.95) inches in Dawei, (2.89) inches in Tadaung(Agro), (2.64) inches in Mogaung, (2.59) inches in Mandalay, (2.56) inches each in Tada U and Myeik and (2.52) inches in Mogoke.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the depression over Northwest Bay of Bengal Northwest Bay of Bengal off West Bengal (India)- Bangladesh Coasts has moved North-Northeastwards. It is centered at about (30) Nautical miles Southeast of Sagar Islands (India), about (110) Nautical miles Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh) and about (225) Nautical miles West of Maungdaw (Myanmar). Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Yangon Region, Eastern Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, (Northern and Southern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heay falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Chin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-11) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (5-8)feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of scattered rain or  thundershowers in Central Myanmar areas.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Likelihood of rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region, isolated in Yangon.
