BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs MST today, the tropical storm over Thailand has weaken into a land depression. It is forecast continue to move West ward and likely to cross to Kayin State, Myawaddy city (Myanmar) as a Low Pressure Area noon today.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 19th September, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (9 – 14) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (6 - 8) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
