BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES :According to the observations at (05:30) hrs MST today, the tropical storm “NOUL” over the South China Sea is centered at about (80) miles Southeast of Danang (Vietnam). It is forecast continues to move West wards and cross near Danang (Vietnam) in this afternoon. It will weaken gradually after crossing the land then continue to move West-Northwest wards after that reach as a wave to the Southeast Myanmar areas on (19.9.2020).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 18th September, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin and Chin States, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Northern Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 11) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5 - 8) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
