SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Naypyitaw and Magway Region, Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Southern Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.40) inches in Putao, (1.98) inches in Payathonsu, (1.89) inches in Gwa, (1.81) inches in Namsam, (1.49) inches in Zaung Tu, (1.38) inches in Hkamti, (1.34) inches each in Homalin and Nanyun, (1.22) inches each in Myitkyina and Belin and (1.19) inches in Dawei.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 11th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6 – 9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Ayeyarwady Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
