SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.53 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 3.43 inches in Mudon, 3.11 inches in Mawlamyine, 2.99 inches in Theinzayet, 2.95 inches in Mawlaik, 2.83 inches in Sittwe, 2.36 inches in Paung, 2.17 inches in Chaungsone, 2.05 inches each in Yangon(Botahtaung) and Maubin and 2.00 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is ‌a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 26th June 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kayah, (Northern and  Eastern)Shan States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
