SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers has been scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Shan(North and South) and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. Day temperatures were (4°C) above May average temperature in Eastern Shan State and (2°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw and Kayin State, (2°C) below May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, (4°C) below May average temperature in Chin State and (6°C) below May average temperature in Rakhine State and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (39°C) in Myawaddy, (38°C) each in Yamethin, Lunkyaw and Chauk and (37°C) each in Bhamo, Mawlaik, Sagaing, Myinmu, Mandalay, Kyaukse, Hlaingtat and Tada U. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.72) inches in Kyauktaw, (2.36) inches each in Maungdaw and Sittwe, (2.01) inches in Mawlaik, (1.85) inches in Phaung Pyin, (1.81) inches in  Manaung, (1.77) inches in Central Yangon, (1.73) inches in Paletwa, (1.69) inches each in Myeik and Launglon, (1.65) inches Kyaukpadaung(Agro), (1.61) inches Zaung Tu and (1.42) inches in Maubin.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN) which has crossed near the Bogura (Bangladesh), has moved to North-Northeastwards and weaken into a Depression. It is forecast to move Northeastwards and gradually weaken today evening. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Southern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10-13) feet off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of likelihood of thundery activities in Deltaic areas.
