(a) Sea surface temperatures and atmospheric conditions over the equatorial Tropical Pacific Ocean persists under very strong El Niño conditions. Based on assessments and forecasts issued by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and international climate centers, El Niño conditions are expected to reach their peak toward the end of 2026.
(b) Although El Niño is a phenomenon that occurs in the Pacific Ocean, its impacts can generally lead to irregular rainfall patterns, higher day temperatures, abnormal storm activity, drought and other extreme weather events in the upcoming summer season.
(c) Therefore, all relevant sectors are kindly requested to take necessary precautionary measures in advance.
