SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.01 inches in Putao, 3.78 inches in Chaungsone, 3.35 inches in Belin, 3.31 inches in Kyauktan, 3.28 inches in Ye, 3.11 inches in Mudon, 2.95 inches in Thaton, 2.67 inches in Mawlamyine, 2.64 inches in Homalin and 2.57 inches in Hpa-an. 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha coasts, India and Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move West- Northwestwards across North Odisha - Gangetic West Bengal, India during next 24 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State,  fairly widespread in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Southern Shan States.
