SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Chin State, scattered in Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 7.10 inches in Manaung, 6.10 inches in Kyaukpyu, 4.42 inches in Hpa-an, 4.37 inches in Sittwe, 4.33 inches in Mogaung, 4.26 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 3.03 inches in Ngathaichaung, 2.28 inches in Kyonepyaw, 2.17 inches in Kawkareik and 2.14 inches in Myitkyina. 

BAY INFERENCEMonsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9thJune 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and (Northern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
