SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing Region and Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Magway Region and Kachin, Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. Day temperature 2°C above May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States and 2°C below May average temperatures in Kayin and Mon States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.7°C in Nyaung Oo, 40.6°C in Chauk, 40.0°C in Myinmu, 39.0°C each in Tada U(Avia-Met), Pakokku and Sinbyugyun, 38.5°C in Magway, 38.4°C in Minbu, 38.2°C in Myingyan and 37.5°C in Sagaing on 26-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.20 inches in Hpa-an, 1.65 inches in Coco Island, 1.61 inches in Hpa-an (Agro-Met), 1.57 inches each in Naypyitaw(Pobbathiri), Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri) and Mawkmai, 1.42 inches each in Yamethin and Paung, 1.40 inches in Nyaungdon, 1.34 inches in Hinthada, 1.30 inches in Kawkareik and 1.22 inches in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri).

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and (Northern and Eastern)Shan State, scattered in Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, (Northern and Southern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
