SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kachin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway Region. Day temperature 2°C above May average temperatures in Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 42.3°C in Chauk, 41.3°C in Nyaung Oo, 39.7°C in Myinmu, 39.4°C in Sinbyugyun, 39.0°C each in Pakokku and Monywa, 38.2°C in Tada U(Avia-Met), 38.0°C each in Myingyan and Minbu and 37.7°C in Magway on 25-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.68 inches in Shwekyin, 2.25 inches in Madauk, 1.90 inches in Danubyu, 1.85 inches in Kawkareik, 1.81 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 1.77 inches in Mogaung, 1.74 inches in Khayan, 1.69 inches each in Tharrawady and Paung and 1.65 inches in Mawlamyine.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin States, scattered in Kayah, Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
