SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Yangon, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady,Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Bago Region and Kachin, Kayah, Chin, Rakhine, Southern Shan States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and (Northern and Eastern)Shan State. Weather has been partly cloudy in Magway, Lower Saging Regions. Day temperatures 5°C to 6°C above May average temperatures in Sagaing Region and Kachin State, 3°C to 4°C above May average temperatures in Mandalay, Bago, Magway Regions and (Northern and  Eastern)Shan State, 2°C above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Southern Shan States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 44.0°C in Myinmu, 43.6°C in Chauk, 43.0°C in Nyaung Oo, 42.0°C each in Minbu, Pakokku, Gangaw and Mingin,  41.7°C each in Myingyan and Monywa and 41.5°C in Yeu on 21-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.80 inches in Hindatha, 2.52 inches in Kayan, 2.21 inches in Belin, 1.95 inches in Nyaungdon, 1.93 inches in Hmawbi, 1.81 inches each in Phyarpon and Thaton, 1.69 inches in Hmawbi(Agro-Met), 1.34 inches in Maubin and 1.06 inches in Kalewa. 

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and weather is a few cloud over the North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Kayah, Rakhine, (Nothern and Eastern)Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of thundery activities in the Deltaic Myanmar areas.
