SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. Rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Upper Sagaing Regions and Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Southern Shan States, fairly widespread in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, scattered in Kachin, Eastern Shan States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were 4°C above April average temperature in Taninthayi Region, 2°C above April average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin State and 2°C below April average temperatures in Mandalay Region and Eastern Shan State, 3°C to 4°C below April average temperatures in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States, 5°C below April average temperature in Chin State, 7°C below April average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.6°C in Kawkareik, 40.5°C in Minbu, 40.1°C in Chauk, 40.0°C in Ngathaichaung, 39.5°C in Taungoo(Avia-Met), 39.4°C in Hpa-an and 39.0°C each in Yangon(Botahtaung), Khayan, Zaung Tu, Nyaunglaybin, Phyu, Dawei and Hpa-an(Agro-Met) on 28-4-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 1.56 inches in Mongpan, 1.54 inches in Sittwe, 1.37 inches in Pindaya, 1.34 inches in Kyaukpadaung, 1.14 inches in Heho, 1.05 inches in Mahlaing, 0.75 inch in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), 0.71 inch in Ywangan and 0.70 inch in Naypyitaw (Zayarthiri).
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th April 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Region and States. Degree of certainty is 80%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Northern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 4-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to farily widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States.
