BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES:  According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Koniu” over the South China Sea may continue to move slowly Westwards and downgrade into a Severe Tropical Storm “Koniu”.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 07th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Regions and Eastern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 07th October 2023: Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).
