SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (3.42) inches in Mawlamyinegyun, (3.11) inches in Thaton, (3.03) inches each in Coco Island and Kyeikkhame, (2.83) inches in Belin, (2.63) inches each in Naypyitaw Airport(Ela) and Danubyu, (2.48) inches in Launglon, (2.30) inches in Paing Kyone, (2.25) inches in Putao and (2.17) inches each in Shan-Ywar Thit and Ye.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Bago Region and (Northern and Southern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
