SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in Taninthayi Region with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.61) inches in Putao, (3.27) inches in Launglon, (3.03) inches in Khayan, (1.42) inches in Kungyangon, (1.35) inches in Nyauntone, (1.18) inches in Bago, (0.98) inch in Tamu, (0.94) inch in Pauktaw, (0.91) inch in Machanbaw and (0.86) inch in Hkamti.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and south Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Mon States, scattered in Chin, Kayin States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (6 - 8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
