SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (6.42) inches in Kawkareik, (5.71) inches in Mogaung, (5.04) inches in Paung, (4.30) inches in Hpa-an, (4.25) inches in Bogale, (3.70) inches in Paing Kyone, (3.62) inches in Mawlamyine, (3.54) inches in Dawei, (3.50) inches in Kyaiklat, (3.43) inches in Kyauktaw, (3.40) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi and (3.23) inches in Mudon.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 04th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
