SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Chin, Rakhine States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and (Northern and Southern) Shan State, fairly widespread in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayah, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.96) inches in Ye, (1.57) inches in Kyeikkhame, (1.50) inches in Manaung, (1.38) inches in Mogaung, (1.26) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (1.25) inches in Bogale, (1.18) inches in Mudon, (1.14) inches in Launglon and (1.11) inches in Kawkareik.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 01st July, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Rakhine State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-7) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon States.
