SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Kayah State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Chin States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.40) inches in Ngapudaw, (3.94) inches in Einme, (3.90) inches in Taungkok, (3.58) inches in Pathein, (3.35) inches in Myaungmya, (3.23) inches in Kyauktaw, (3.00) inches in Kangyidaunt, (2.76) inches in Gwa, (2.44) inches in Myauk U, (2.36) inches in Myeik and (2.32) inches in Sittwe.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.  

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd June, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and (5-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Ayeyarwady Region and Kachin, Rakhine States.
