BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” over the East Central Bay of Bengal has moved  Northeastwards and centered at about (230) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Coco Island, (240) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Hainggyigyun, (250) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Sittwe, (330) Nautical miles North-Northwest of Port Blair (India) and (305) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh). Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 14th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State and widespread in the Remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region and Shan State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: Due to the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” over Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal, the Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Remaining Regions and States except from Southern Myanmar areas. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Frequently squall with very rough seas will be experienced in off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (11-120) mph. Frequently squall with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in off and along Deltaic Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (50-70) mph.Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40-45) mph. Wave height will be about (16-20) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts, (10-14) feet off and along Deltaic Coasts and (9-13) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest Monsoon into the Southern Myanmar areas.
