SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated in Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State. Weather has been generally fair in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below December average temperature in Chin State, (2°C) above December average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Southern Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and (5°C) above December average temperature in Naypyitaw and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-1°C) in Hakha, (6°C) in Tiddim, (7°C) each in Kyaukmae, Heho and Pyinoolwin and (8°C) each in Namsam and Mogoke. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.59) inch in Ngathaichaung, (0.45) inch in Danubyu, (0.44) inch in Coco Island and (0.16) inch in Labutta.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm” MANDOUS” over Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved West-Northwestwards. It is centered at about (630) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco Island, (730) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Hainggyigyun (Myanmar), (210) Nautical miles East of Jaffna (Sri Lanka) and (280) Nautical miles Southeast of Chennai(India). Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th December, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Taninthayi Region and isolated in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coast. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) mph. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Myanmar Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
