SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into the Central Myanmar areas and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway, scattered in Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and NorthernShan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region andisolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region. Day temperatures were (2°C) above May average temperature in Kachin State and (2°C) below May average temperatures in (Northern and Southern) Shan and Rakhine States, (3°C) to (4°C) below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin State, (5°C) below May average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were (36°C) each in Bawlakhae and Hpasaung. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.55) inches in Tada U(Aviation-Met), (4.09) inches in Myitnge, (3.90) inches in Singaing, (3.47) inches in Shwesayan, (3.30) inches in Singu, (2.79) inches in Sagaing, (2.73) inches in Natogyi, (2.67) inches in Dawei, (2.56) inches in Ye, (2.48) inches in Mandalay(Aungmyethazan), (2.12) inches in Thandwe and (2.02) inches in Mandalay(Chanmyathazi).
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate over Eastcentral Bay and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Eastern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA:Squall with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) mph. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of thundery activities in the Northern Myanmar Areas.
