SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has advanced into the Southern Myanmar areas, Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal.Weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State and rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Yangon Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan State,scattered inMandalay, AyeyarwadyRegions and Kayin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, BagoRegions and Rakhine Stateand widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were(2°C) above May average temperature in Mandalay Region and (2°C) below May average temperatures in Magway, TaninthayiRegions and Kachin, KayinStates and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (40°C) in Gangawand (38°C) each in Monywa, Myinmu, Chauk, Minbu, Magway, Taungdwingyi, Paukand Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.52) incheseach in Bhamo and Kyeikkhame, (2.44) inches in Katha, (1.61) inches in Shwegu, (1.54) inches in Ye, (1.46) inches in Chaungsone, (1.22) inches in Pyawbwe, (1.10) inches in Kawthaung and (1.02) inches in Ann.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin, Kayin States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, AyeyarwadyRegions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan and Rakhine States, isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-8) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
