BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “Asani” over West Central Bay of Bangal has moved  West-Northwestwards. It iscentered at about (160) Nautical miles Southeast of Kakinada, (180) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Vishakhapatnam, (270) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Gopalpur, (320) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Puri (India), (550) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Coco-Island and (610) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Hainggyigyun(Myanmar).Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 10th May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Magway, Bago regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayah State. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
