SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon Regions and (Northern and Southern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Ragions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (8.66) inches in Belin, (7.29) inches in Paing Kyone, (5.00)inches in Kawthaung, (4.65) inches in Paung, (4.21) inches in Hpa-an, (3.86) inches in Thaton, (3.81) inches in Mawlamyine, (3.66) inches in Myitkyina, (3.27) inches in Myeik, (2.83) inches in Mogaung and (2.72) inches in Putao.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL AFTERNOON OF THE 26th August, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions,scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and NorthernShan State and widespread in the remaining Ragions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin,Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 – 9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Moderate to strongmonsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
