SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (5.39) inches in Tamu, (4.25) inches in Sittwe, (3.46) inches in Hkamti, (3.11) inches in Maungdaw, (2.24) inches in Kani, (2.20) inches in Htilin, (1.97) inches in Kyauktaw, (1.85) inches in Pyay, (1.62) inches each in Thipaw and Lashio and (1.57) inches in Manaung.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th August, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Magway Region, fairly widespread in Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be moderate inMyanmarwaters. Wave height will be about (6 -8)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
