SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Bago, Yangon Regions and Mon State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (5.78) inches in Mogoke, (4.29) inches in Hkamti, (3.08) inches in Kawthaung, (2.59) inches each in Myitkyina and Myauk U, (2.28) inches in Kyauktaw, (2.01) inches each in Mogaung and Kunlong, (1.77) inches each in Naungcho and Nyaunglaybin and (1.73) inches in Machanbaw.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th August, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7 – 9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-7) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
