SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been sacttered in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (4.57) inches in Launglon, (3.62) inches in Kawthaung, (3.58) inches in Myeik, (2.87) inches in Moemate, (2.83) inches in Dawei, (2.57) inches in Khayan, (2.44) inches in Central-Yangon, (2.25) inches each in Coco-Island and Nyaungtone, (1.73) inches in Hpa-anand (1.50) inches each in Naungcho and Mogoke.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weakelsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th July, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Rakhine, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about(7-9)feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-7)feet inDeltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
