BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (17:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “YAAS” over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northwestwards. It is centered at about (295)Nautical miles Northweat of Coco Island, about (320) Nautical miles West of Pathein(Myanmar), about (250) Nautical miles Southeast of Paradip, about (295) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Digha(India). Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL AFTERNOON OF THE 25th May, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State andwidespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA:Occasional squalls with very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (13 -17)feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and about (9-13)feet in Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Continuation of thundery activities in Deltaic areas.
