SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan States and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon Regions and Chin, Kayah States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below February average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (2°C) above February average temperatures in Kachin, Chin States, (3°C) to (4°C) above February average temperatures in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine States, (5°C) to (6°C) above February average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States and (7°C) above February average temperature in Naypyitaw and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (9°C) each in Putao, Mindat and Hakha and (10°C) each in Heho and Tiddim. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.98) inch in Tatkon, (0.39) inch in Coco Island, (0.35) inch in Kunlong, (0.28) inch in Lashio and (0.12) inch each in Momate and Pinlaung.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st February, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin, Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-6) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in Kachin and Shan States.
