SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Naypyitaw, Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Chin State, scattered in Mandalay Region and Mon State and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago Regions and Kachin State. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below February average temperature in Chin State and (2°C) above February average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah, Kayin States, (4°C) above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Southern Shan, Mon States and (5°C) above February average temperature in (Northern and Eastern)Shan State and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (0°C) in Hakha, (5°C) each in Putao, Mindat and Tiddim and (6°C) in Machanbaw. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.98) inch in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), (0.94) inch in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), (0.91) inch each in Bhamo and Hlaingtat, (0.79) inch in Naypyitaw (Pobbathiri) and (0.59) inch each in Minesat and Naypyitaw(Otarathiri).

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th February, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in (Northern and Southern)Shan, Kayah States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Seas will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in the whole country.
