SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Light rain has been isolated in Kachin State, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below January average temperatures in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State and (3°C) above January average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (3°C) each in Heho and Hakha, (4°C) each in Namsam, Pinlaung, Loilin, Mindat and Tiddim and (5°C) in Pyinoolwin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th January, 2021: Rain will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Mandalay, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-6) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States.
