SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Chin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below January average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (2°C) above January average temperatures in Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, (3°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw and Southern Shan State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (1°C) in Hakha, (5°C) in Mindat and (6°C) each in Putao, Machanbaw, Namsam, Pinlaung, Loilin and Ramthlo.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 03rd January, 2021: Weather will be partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-6) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT: Generally fair in the whole country.
