SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in  Northern Shan, Kayah and Kayin States. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Magway, Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan and Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Ayeyarwady Regions, Eastern Shan and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and isolated heavy falls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (6.89) inches in Homalin, (3.98) inches in Tamu, (3.07) inches in Kyauktaw, (2.12) inches in Maungdaw, (2.05) inches in Pinlaebu, (1.97) inches in Myauk U, (1.54) inches each in Bhamo and Hkamti and (1.34) inches each in Monyin and Pyinmana (Walgyi).

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West central Bay of Bengal has itensified into a depression over Northwest and adjoining West Central Bay of Bengal. It is centered at about (100) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Paradip and about (190) Nautical miles South- Southwest of Sagar Islands (India), about (270) Nautical miles South- Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh) and about (330) Nautical miles West- Southwest of Maungdaw (Myanmar). Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay and partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Northern Shan, Kayah and Kayin States, scattered in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan(South and East) and Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region, Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-10) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (4-6)feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States.
