SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in  Lower Sagaing Region, Northern Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Rakhine State, scattered in Magway and Bago Regions, Kachin and Southern Shan States, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (4.29) inches in Hainggyiggyun, (3.03) inches in Labutta, (2.05) inches in Kungyangon, (1.97) inches in Machanbaw, (1.48) inches in Nyaungtone, (1.45) inches in Phyarpon, (1.30) inches in Puta, (1.26) inches in Maubin and (1.23) inches in Central Yangon.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over West Central Bay of Bengal and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal now lies over the West Central Bay of Bengal. It is forecast to move Northwestwards and intensify into a Depression during next (24)hrs. Thereafter it is likely to move North-Northeastwards and may further intensify into a Deep Depression during next (48)hrs near West Bengal (India) and Bengladesh coasts. Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Northern Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Magway and Bago Regions, (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Chin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic,off and along Rakhine coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-10) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (4-6)feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States.
