SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw  and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Bago Regions, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Magway Region, Shan (South and East) and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region and isolated heavy falls in Yangon Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (10.63) inches in Phyarpon, (7.48) inches in Maubin, (3.98) inches in Kungyangon, (2.80) inches in Hkamti, (1.46) inches in Machanbaw, (1.43) inches in Nyaungtone, (1.30) inches in Kyauktaw, (1.26) inches each in Labutta and Paung Byin and (1.25) inches in Saw.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (13:30) hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over Central Bay of Bengal. It is forecast to move initially Northwestwards then North-Northeastwards. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Magway and Bago Regions, Northern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Shan (South and East) and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yagon and Ayeyarwady Regons. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States.
