SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw and Northern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.56) inches in Ngathaichaung, (2.48) inches in Kawthaung, (2.17) inches in Nyaungtone, (1.77) inches in Layhtetpyin (Agro-Met), (1.65) inches in Central Yangon, (1.61) inches each in Maubin and Myaungmya, (1.57) inches in Nyaung Oo, (1.54) inches in Zalun, (1.49) inches in Myingyan and (1.26) inches in Aunglan.

BAY INFERENCE:  Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Bay and East central Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Shan (South and East), Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions.
