SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan and Rakhine States, scattered in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.83) inches in Kyeikkhame, (2.32) inches in Theinzayet, (2.20) inches in Naypyitaw(Ottarathiri), (2.00) inches in Bago, (1.97) inches in Belin, (1.77) inches in Thaton, (1.58) inches each in Zaung Tu and Kawthaung and (1.50) inches each in Laiway and Ela.

BAY INFERENCE:  Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and East central Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan (South and East) State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Magway and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in Southern Myanmar areas.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 17th October, 2020:  Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).

FORECAST FOR YANGON AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 17th October, 2020: One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (80%).

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 17th October, 2020:  Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (60%).

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and isolated in Mandalay Region.
